MR. ROBERT J. "CATFISH"  RAINE, AVG & CNAC

Naval aviator and AVG "Flying Tiger" Flight Leader:  Originally trained to fly carrier-based torpedo bombers.   While flying with the AVG, Raine would be credited with the destruction of 3 and a half Japanese aircraft in aerial combat and would participate in the crucial Saleen Gorge Battle.  Following AVG service, Raine would be one of 18 former Flying Tigers who stayed-on in China to fly supplies over the "Hump" and throughout war-torn China with China National Aviation Corporation.   After the War, Raine remained with CNAC until  he and 10 other AVG pilots and ground crewmen pooled their talents and personal finances to form Flying Tiger Cargo Airlines.   Raine stayed with the operational side of the airline, becoming one of the company's most senior pilots.  Raine has logged more than 32,000 hours of flight time in training aircraft, torpedo bombers, fighters and propeller and jet powered transports.
