In" Under Their Wings" Roy Grinnell has created an image that in so many ways, dramatically defines the special relationship that grew between the young American aviators of the American Volunteer Group and the people of China.

 

"DOUBLE VICTORY"

In "Double Victory" aviation artist Roy Grinnell has dramatically caught the moment when, while flying a Curtiss P-40 Warhawk as an observer attached to the 23rd Fighter Group, the great Polish Air Force fighter "Ace" Witold Urbanowicz shot down two Japanese Army Air Force Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa fighters near Nanchang, China.
